Area Description: The crowning jewel of the Golden State, Santa Cruz welcomes visitors with an enchanting blend of nostalgia, natural beauty and invigoration activities.
Vacationers have been drawn to the natural beauty of Santa Cruz since the 1800’s. The century-old Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (right across the street) is home to two National Historic Landmarks. As the West Coast’s oldest seaside amusement park, it holds a special place in history. Roaring Camp Railroads offers excursions through an old growth redwood forest aboard vintage steam locomotives.

The area’s sunny beaches, scenic forests and other attractions have lured visitors and luminaries alike throughout the century. The Santa Cruz Surfing museum pays homage to the town’s “Surf City” roots, which still permeate every facet of the community today.
Visitors can spend the day kayaking, sailing, fishing, hiking, or playing golf. Gently glide through a slough surrounded by only the distant chatter of songbirds. Feel the rush of sailing over the crisp waters of the Pacific Ocean. Experience a breathtaking view of Monterey Bay as you hike through a redwood forest.
Santa Cruz is located on California’s Central Coast. It is approximately 60 miles south of San Francisco, 30 miles southwest of San Jose, 35 miles north of Monterey and 375 miles north of Los Angeles.
The climate is mild with summer temperatures in the mid 70’s (degrees) and winter temperatures in the 60’s. The average rainfall is 31 inches with 300 days of sunshine per year.

We had such a wonderful time. Every member of our family, as well as my daughter's girlfriends, said how beautiful they thought the house was. We definitely will keep 5-Star(fish) at the top of our list for future vacations. We also enjoyed Claudia's (housekeeper) warmth and eagerness to please. You have a treasure there! Again, thank you, Laura. Your home is so warm and inviting--you have brought the beach indoors very successfully. We LOVED it! -Laurel B.

We just got settled in and absolutely LOVE your house. So beautiful and wonderfully equipped. I know we're going to have a great time here! We invited another couple for dinner tonight because, really, what's the point of getting to stay in a fabulous house unless you get to show it off! You guys created such a wonderful space here. Thanks for everything. -Sydney L
