This original homesteader’s cabin was built in the 1950’s, and has been tenderly maintained by our family for over 45 years. The cabin features knotty pine throughout, with modern upgrades, while maintaining its original Alaskan history and charm. The 760 square foot cabin accommodates up to six people with a private queen bedroom, two double-sized futons (one in living room and one in porch area), and a Lazy-Boy double sofa sleeper in the living room. Condiments including whole bean coffee and tea are provided in the full size kitchen. The cabin front offers expansive views of the lake and two mountain ranges. Two decks, one lakeside and one with a gas BBQ overlooking the perennial flower beds and garden area, add to you enjoyment of this “one-of-a-kind” Alaskan setting!
Sip your coffee while listening to the call of the loon echo across the pristine waters of Cottonwood Lake. Or, sit on the dock and watch the trout jump in the evening glow of a long summer night as an eagle glides directly above. Better yet, wet a line with one of our trout poles and catch a rainbow trout for dinner. Explore the lake in the paddleboat, canoe or tandem kayak (lifejackets provided). Take a swim off our dock and soak in those warm summer days on the floating dock. Roast marshmallows and share stories around the lakeside fire pit. Relax and let time stand still!
Wintertime? Wonderland time! Watch the Aurora Borealis dance across the sky, listen to the ice take on a voice of its own as it contracts and expands, ice fish, ice skate, cross country ski, or snowmobile as conditons permit. Available October to May at monthly rates (call for rates). Ideal for professional couples, traveling itinerants, or for temporary housing during transitions during this time.
Enjoy a place where time stands still, and breathtaking beauty abounds!

The hosts of this great retreat were very nice and we really enjoyed all the little extras that made it feel like a home away from home. We would suggest this beautiful place to anyone that just wanted to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle or just wanted a quiet retreat....Thank you so much for everything....What a beautiful memory.....

The beauty and tranquillity makes you want to move to Alaska if you could own this propery. All the comforts of home provided. We took long walks, fished, watched the sun set and rise. I really felt like I was home. We can't wait to go back.
