Description - Beautiful Manor House
A 17th century manor house made out of granite was completely restored. Because of this restoration and because of its architecture and antiquity, combined with a concordant comfort, the “Casa das Paredes” deserved the merit of being included in the tourist distinction classification of the "Manor Houses of Portugal" (Solares de Portugal).The Manor House is situated nearby the historical cities of Guimarães, Braga and Porto and nearby the Natural Park of Peneda-Gerês.
The House is surrounded by the most beautiful gardens with several centenary trees and granite tanks with running water; by a spacious park with a swimming pool surrounded by grass with a rural threshing-floor, shed, granary and extra outdoor bathrooms. Higher up in another garden with foliage you will find another swimming pool made out of granite with ornament.
The House, all with central heating, has ten rooms with private bath, several rooms with fireplace, dining room, a large games room with billiards, ping-pong and table football. There are also two kitchenettes and a barbecue area and bicycles available.
Set in the countryside, but near historical cities such as Guimaraes, Porto and Braga and places of great beauty, such as dam Queimadela and Gerês.

The Castle has been classified as one of the New Portuguese Seven Wonders. The first King, D. Afonso Henriques is still being idolized by the city. About 50 km from Porto, Guimarães is placed near to the mountain, Penha, with wonderful views to all the city. The Manor House "Casa das Paredes" is situated 10 km away from Guimarães, in Fafe.
Guimarães will be the European Capital of Culture 2012 and Braga, a roman city, situated 28 away from the Manor House will be European Capital of Youth 2012.
