We are approximately 2 1/2 hours from Queenstown, 2 1/2 hours from Milford Sound, and15 minutes to Te Anau and 20 minutes walk to the departure wharf for Doubtful Sound.<br /> <br /> Looking towards the setting sun your view is rimmed with mountain peaks. Snow capped in winter, unmarked by man's hand, their bush covered flanks lead your eyes to Lake Manapouri's edge. There is one local restaurant just a 5 minutes walk away, also one cafe and a small shop just 10 minutes walk. We are 12k from the Kelper track which is one of Fiordlands popular walking tracks. Doubltful Sound is just a cruise away and the departure wharf is 5 minutes away by car. You can not come to Fiordland, and not at least drive to Milford Sound and explore the majestic scenery from the roadside.
