Jun 20, 2008 "The Discovery Beach House on Manuel Antonio Beach is the only place to stay while vacationing in Costa Rica. This house has everything. From an amazing sparkling infinity pool that seems to disappear into the ocean, to the oversized hot-tub, and the immediate beach access, you'll never stay anywhere else. I have stayed three times in the last 2 years and have another trip planned for the end of this year. This property is safe and secure, with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. It is centrally located close to Manuel Antonio's finest restaurants and night clubs, as well as all the fantastic local attractions. Not to mention, monkeys, sloths, and all kinds of amazing natural wildlife surround you everywhere. Take the time to go on a nearby canopy safari through the Costa Rican Rain Forest and make sure to take long walks on the most beautiful beaches in the world - right outside your door! There is also plenty of great shopping very close by. Everything that was promised in the brochure was delivered and then some. The owners of the property were incredibly helpful and made sure we felt very welcomed and we did not want for a single thing our entire time there. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room to spare. This place is big! The Discovery Beach House is a must while traveling to Costa Rica." John Gallardo - Jul 13, 2009 |

We had the pleasure of renting a week at the Discovery Beach House. We were told it was close to the beach but to our delightful surprise this house is right on the most beautiful beach we’ve ever seen. Another big plus is that it’s walking distance to Manuel Antonio National Park. The concierge, Heather, gave us several great suggestions and made us feel like royalty. One night we went to La Hacienda Restaurant to hear Fuzzy Rojas perform live - what a great voice. If you like soul and R&B, this is a must-do! We highly recommend this home. It’s a great location, like having our own private nature reserve. Every day the white face monkeys hung out in the trees overlooking the Jacuzzi and pool. It was an experience of a lifetime sharing our space with such amazing wildlife. We felt so safe with 24/7 security. The house itself was so comfortable, beautiful and clean. The staff accommodated our every need and even served us fresh coconuts from trees on the property one morning. We already have a return visit planned and are letting all our Atlanta friends know about this great find. What a wonderful vacation experience! Pura Vida, Maria & Jim Gallardo - Jul 13, 2009 |

This was our second time vacationing at the Discovery Beach House and we really love this place! Everything is immaculate and all the staff made us feel special and did whatever was needed to make us comfortable. To us there isn't a more beautiful place to spend a vacation. Where else can one see wild monkeys play in the trees every afternoon and even see a sloth in the tree above our bedroom. We enjoy the privacy of the crystal clean pool and jacuzzi and the feeling that time doesn't matter. We enjoy being able to walk 2 minutes across the way on the beach to have a Michilada (beer & lime juice) and Heart of Palm Salad at the Karahe Hotel & Restaurant, or a Sunset dinner at Aqua Azul (don't miss their Tuna Margarita Appetizer). The concierge organized a Horseback riding tour for us as well as the Canopy Safari Zipline tour which we think is one of the best !!! The sound of the Ocean and the Rain forest is so relaxing and it was hard to leave. We will be back for sure! Thank you ! KK & Peter Gallardo - Jul 13, 2009 |

June 26, 2009 Our family has truly enjoyed our visit to your beautiful beach. Between the surf, the pool, walking on the beach and of course, the monkeys! Each afternoon we would wait for the monkey’s daily visit to the backyard. Truly amazing! Thanks to all the help who were so friendly and accommodating. July 4, 2009 The Discovery Beach House Ranks at the Top I never cease to be amazed at the beauty and wonder of God’s creation. Costa Rica and the Discovery Beach House rank at the top of my list. The house, swimming pool, beach and all the fun activities have been perfect for our family. It has truly been a blessing to spend the week here with my family and we can’t forget the monkeys! We enjoyed meeting you at La Hacienda restaurant. All of your workers have been very gracious and helpful. Thanks for making this experience possible. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!! The Barkley Family Nashville, Tennessee Gallardo - Jul 13, 2009 |

I've stayed at the Discovery Beach House twice. The first trip was with my 5 girlfriends. My favorite memory is our spa day by the pool. We did it all, massages, facials and even a private Pilates Class. Relaxing in the Jacuzzi while watching monkeys play by the pool was a special treat. This trip was with my family. My two teenage boys loved hanging out at the beach, hiking Manuel Antonio National Park and the burgers at the Sunspot Grill. A highlight was the afternoon we all walked past the pool and onto the beach where there were horses waiting to take us on a sunset ride. The landscaping at this home is amazing and so meticulously kept. The decor inside is beautiful, We truly feel like we had found the perfect haven for our family, especially after we spotted a mother sloth and her baby on the property. The staff was lovely and helped us learn a little Spanish. I highly recommend the in-house chef, Desiree, who makes the best spring rolls! The only hard part was leaving. Amazing is an understatement…. We stayed at the Discovery Beach House this last March 2009. We had such a wonderful time and fell in love with the warmth and coziness that the Discovery Beach House offers. It has everything you need and More!!! First of all it’s located just steps from the beach. You can hear the waves crashing while sipping your morning cup of coffee. But yet you are surrounded by lush vegetation and the occasional monkey or sloth. It’s Truly Paradise… The Pool and Jacuzzi are a lot larger than I imagined and the beds and linens are so comfy I didn’t want to get out of bed. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need to cook a meal at home and the local grocery store is just a short taxi drive up the road. For fun we also took advantage of hiring the house chef to prepare a couple of meals for us. The Discovery Beach House also comes with a concierge so you don’t feel like you’ve been left alone in a foreign Country. She is a phone call away and is there to greet you upon your arrival. The house is filled with amazing artifacts from around the world. The living room has a cozy African theme while the kitchen honors the famous Artists Frida and Diego. Simply amazing…. I can’t wait to go back!!! Laurie - Apr 22, 2009 |

"We stayed at the Discovery House in October 2006 and again in July 2008. We have another trip planned for November of this year. Sometimes properties look better online than in reality. This is NOT one of those. If anything, it is better and more comfortable than the photos portray. The house is unique, roomy and welcoming. The beds and linens are scrumptious. The property is well maintained. The location is prime, right on the beach and with a large lap pool and oversized hot tub. It's an excellent beach for swimming and strolling. There are great restaurants within a short drive and good local eating spots and shopping within easy walking distance. We like to stroll down to The Marlin for breakfast in the morning. Flip-flops are pretty much all you'll need for the most part, but bring decent walking shoes if you want to do some exploring. Don't expect to walk to the grocery store since supplies like food and liquor are a steep uphill climb. More evenings than not the monkeys came through right around cocktail time - catch a great view from the upstairs balcony. Be sure to arrange for a canopy safari tour while you are in there. Flying through the jungle at treetop level is like nothing I've experienced before. Love this place!! Louise Z - Apr 19, 2009 |
