Description - Hana Aloha Hale

An Unforgettable Hawaiian designed tropical luxury vacation Home set in the middle of the most desirable location in MAUI if not all of Hawaii, Hana. It lays facing due east of Maui with a clear view of the Pacific Ocean in the direction of Maka'alae Point. Maka'alae Point which means (The beginning of the path to the eye) was known to be the playgrounds of the Alii's (Chiefs) because it is known for its pleasant fair weather conditions. You can see the sunrise out of the Pacific Ocean (and the sometimes the Moon) creeping along the horizon of the water. It is conveniently located in the best spot in Hana making it accessible to all the tourist activities and services. Walking distance to Venus Pools, Hana's beautiful coastline and Hamoa Beach. My home is accessible to all the public and private conveniences in the Hana area.

Area Description: Hana lies in a remote area of the island but this is where the fun begins. In Hana, you get to hike in the rain forest to natural waterfalls and play at some fun beaches, pools and get close to Mother Nature. Locals from other parts of Maui will drive to Hana and stay the weekend just to get away from the maddening crowds of the tourist. This is why my home is in high demand. Hana is to long of a drive and one day is to short of a time period for the amount of activities there. My home in Hana provides all the modern facilities and comforts of your home elsewhere, but in a remote location and allows you to experience Hawaii like locals. World famous Hamoa Beach, Koki beach, Venus pools, and Hana coast lines is in walking distance from the house. Haleakala National Park, Ohe'o Gulch, Hana Cultural Center, Kahanu gardens, Pi'ilanihali Heiau, Waianapanapa state Park, Kaihalulu Beachand Hana town center are a short distance way by car.

We stayed at Hana Aloha Hale for our honeymoon and it absolutely lives up to its name, Magic Love House. I can see why Honey Moon Magazine named Makaale’a point right in front of the house as being the most Romantic scenic spot along the Hana Coast. Then we heard Hana was named the most romantic location in the nation this year and realized that we have been blessed to experience the Garden of Eden. It truly is and we will go back again and tell our friends. We’re still breathless with the love and aloha of the erotic and sensual landscapes and shapes that we came across. The home is just outside of Hana town and close enough to two awesome beaches and natural swimming pool at the edge of the ocean. What a trip!
We also loved the owners genuine aloha spirit. Mahalo.

Recently we had friends visiting from Canada and we decided that a visit to Maui is not complete unless you have driven the road to Hana. From past experience we know that as you wind your way along the spectacular east coast of Maui, through the tropical rain forests, past cascading waterfalls and quaint little towns, you become acutely aware that this amazing adventure is all about the journey. We also know that once you arrive in Hana you must spend at least one night there to connect with this very spiritual place. We had already booked our Hana vacation home from owner Lee Lopez whom we had met the day before at his home in Haiku. Hana Aloha Hale sits on 2.5 acres overlooking the ocean.

Surrounded by beautiful palms and tropical flowers, the vacation home with its many windows is designed to bring the outside in and offers a peaceful retreat where you can relax and enjoy just being alive. The garden also hosts a variety of fruit trees and Lee, very hospitably had told us to help ourselves to avocado, papaya and passion fruit. We enjoyed a wonderful happy hour accompanied by the delicious guacamole that we made from an enormous ripe avocado.
Also on the property Lee has built an original Hawaiian Hale crafted as in ancient days when there were no nails or screws and everything was made by hand. For those who want to experience traditional Hawaiian living, the Hale is also available to rent.
In the morning after a pleasant night sleep we awoke to a musical symphony put on by the resident tropical birds and then an amazing sunrise over the ocean. Breakfast was complete with the papaya and passion fruit that we had found the day before. We also enjoyed some amazing tasting juice from some organic oranges that Lee grows on his Haiku farm.

After breakfast we took a walk that Lee had highly recommended. As we made our way along a path overlooking the ocean we came to a large deep bay and were rewarded by the sight of humpback whales enjoying the warm Hana waters. Further along the trail we saw a monk seal resting on the black sand beach and further again we walked through a lush green field past a large herd of grazing cattle who looked at us with a bit of suspicion. Luckily for us there were no bulls in the herd so we didn't have to worry about being chased. Our Irish friend Carol, noticed that most of them were laying down, which she said was a sign that rain was on the way. Superstition or not, it did sprinkle a bit of warm pineapple juice, so maybe the lucky pennies she kept finding really were pennies from heaven.
We were sad when it was time to leave our Hana Vacation Home but Carol, Fred, Les and I will be back to the Hana Aloha Hale and highly recommend it if you want an unforgettable Hana experience! Many Mahalos to our native Hawaiian host, Lee Lopez, for sharing his beautiful Hale with us.

Hi Lee,

I just wanted to express how much we all enjoyed staying in your beautiful house on Hana. It was so peaceful and wonderful, just like you said. I hope to be able to visit again and again.

Thank you also for welcoming us into your home and introducing us to the very tasty fruits you grow. I only wish I had seen the farm in bloom with fruits. Maybe next time. Steve and I both agree that we slept like babies and really had a hard time leaving. Two days was not enough. So next time we'll plan a longer stay. Your grounds keeper was so nice, love the set up they have too!
I took so many pictures. I felt right at home!

I think after all our friends hear about how much we loved staying at your house many of them will want to visit. I hate to give away what I think to be a treasure on the island Hana Aloha Hale!!! Please be sure to include me on your mailing list for availability for future visits. I would love to visit your farmers market spot next time we are on Maui. Would love to meet your wife next time too.

Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Mahalo and Aloha!

Francy & Steve

PS: the acoustics in your house are perfect...we loved playing music and singing with such a great acoustic room.
