The Hobbit Hole is located on the southwest side of the largest of the Inian Islands, near Elfin Cove, Alaska. This is the northernmost entrance to the famed Inside Passage and is about 20 miles by water west of Glacier Bay. The wild Inian Islands are every adventurer’s dream of a wilderness escape. Fly in, boat in or paddle in to the comfortable cozy private guesthouse lodging. It is a perfect home base for soft adventure explorations of the unspoiled wilderness surrounding us. At the northern entrance to the famed Inside Passage, we are right next to the edge of the earth to the west, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve and the Fairweather mountain range to the north, and the rest of the southeast Alaska panhandle to the south and east. All this potential food results in an abundance of sea mammals and birds and other wildlife. You will surely be able to see a sea lion haul out, sea otters, seals, humpback whales and numerous species of sea birds as well as multiple sightings of bald eagles, our national bird.
