Our house on Tunk Lake is situated on 15 acres of land that was part of the 1800 acres that admiral Byrd owned and used to plan his north pole expeditions in the early 1930s and 1940s. The Lakeside house overlooks Partridge island and a strip of land extending out into the lake just a short canoe or kayak ride in front of Lakeside house waiting to be explored by any member of the family. another track for the family would be to climb Black mountain across the lake in front of the Lakeside house. Lakeside house is located in beautful area of DOWNEAST Maine, near Acadia National park ( 11miles), on 15 acres of forested land, lots of wild life, (many different types of birds,bear,deer, and moose). The fish in Tunk lake are: lake trout, salmon, and sun fish for the little ones to catch from the dock. We have many mountain trails to hike, and miles of back country roads drive over, explore or just walk on. We do have (wild blue High speed internet) via satellite dish.
