Description - Katoa Country Lodge Bed & Breakfast
Katoa Country Lodge offers numerous options for bed and breakfast and homestay guests; catering for couples and families. In addition to bedrooms in the Lodge, we have Hideaway Cottage (ideal for honeymooners, or those wanting extra peace and quiet) plus a self-contained one bedroom unit and two self contained studio units in the delightful stand-alone cottage. See photographs below.
All bedrooms at Katoa Country Lodge have ensuite bathrooms.
Our prices range from $120 - $180 NZ double per night, which includes, of course, our wonderful country breakfast in the morning. Dinner is by arrangement at $30-$42pp, and we are famous for our home-cooked roast dinners! There is also a swimming pool for a dip in summer.
We are a pet-friendly bed and breakfast and offer kennels for dogs, and we can even offer short-term grazing if you would like to bring your horse. It would be a pleasure for Libby to show you some wonderful places to ride around beautiful Gisborne.
For those who want to experience a farm in action and interact with the animals, there are plenty of opportunities on our 25 acres, with our horses, sheep, cattle, dogs and MillyMollyMandy the cat. This is the complete homestay experience in rural New Zealand.

Guests at Katoa Country Lodge will enjoy our private lake with wonderful birdlife and pleasant walks around the garden. We are close to vineyards, golf courses and we are an easy drive to Eastwoodhill Arboretum, as well Gisborne and its lovely sandy surf beaches.
At Katoa Country Lodge there is lots of space for children to play, climb trees and swim in our very own pool. You are free to walk your dog around the grounds and kennels are available.

Area Description: We are situated in the delightful Taurau Valley, surrounded by farms, orchards, and vineyards. It is a very easy 15 - 20 minute drive to Gisborne and all its attractions.
Gisborne is famous for its surf beaches - other attractions include wineries (Gisborne is known as the Chardonnay capital of New Zealand), historic places, interesting walks golf courses, and many lovely cafes and restaurants.
At the centre of the city is the Inner Harbour, a fishing boat mooring and pleasure- boat marina. Visitors can enjoy relaxing at one of the many waterfront cafes.
The wonderful Eastwoodhill Arboretum is a must, and is an easy 30-40 minute drive from Katoa Country Lodge.
At the end of October we have the Wine & Food Festival.
The very popular Rhythm and Vines Festival sees in the New Year.
Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sunrise each day.
