Private Island home with Ocean and Sunset views <br /><br />The Charles House on Monhegan Island is a beautiful home that sits at the top of Horn's Hill with ocean views out most windows. After watching the sunset in the evenings, you can see many lighthouses glowing along the coast of Maine from the upstairs windows. The Charles House is located in a private place on Monhegan Island and is only a five minute walk to the nearest high cliffs, which line the east side of the island, as well as only a five minute walk into the center of Monhegan Village in the opposite direction. You can watch the sun rise over Whitehead Cliff and set over the water in the west. A spacious, natural kitchen and living room opens up onto a large deck that looks toward the harbor of Monhegan and neighboring island, Manana. The deck is private, with small views of the water - the upstairs of the house has gorgeous views that include Monhegan's wharf and Lighthouse, neighboring island Manana and the mainland in the distance. The home is fully furnished, and ready for guests with clean linens and plenty of supplies. The Charles House has it's own private well, and has lovely clear drinking water from the faucet. Beautiful Maine artwork decorates the walls. High speed internet is offered. There are bird feeders on the property, and many birds around of different species. Monhegan Island is a migratory stop-off for birds, so in the spring and fall, there are thousands of birds passing through, a site to behold for the naturalist, birdwatcher, and historian.
