MUD BATHS
The Mar Menor (especially in the vicinity of Costa Calida) offers the largest therapautic open air mudbath of Europe. The mud is well-known for its many minerals what stimulates the healing process. A mudbath treatment is recommended for skin problems, rheumatism, arthritis, throat infections and rehabilitation.
The waters of the Mar Menor are rich in minerals as magnesium, calcium, sodium, iodine, bromide and fluoride. This water in combination with a mudbath is very effective against arthritis and rheumatism. Specialized residences offer advanced treatments, like a hydromassage bath, all under supervision of medical specialist.
For those with medical conditions it is reported that the Mar Menors very fine mud / sands offer anti-inflammatory elements in cases of rheumatism, arthritis, gout and rehabilitation after breaking bones.

The complex also offers exceptional nightlife with live bands, disco, fine dinning and casino. Also their are another 26 courses up and down the coast, including, Villa Martin, Campoverde and Campamore witch are all very good courses.
The Mediterranean coastline offers fantastic scuba diving opportunities and throughout Spain there are numerous diving centres and clubs.
The Costa Calida is situated in the South-East of the Iberian Peninsula. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south the Costa Almeria. There are over 250 kilometres of coastline made up of small inlets, coves and sandy beaches. The waters are wonderfully unpolluted and perfect for sub aqua activities with clear views of the Mediterranean flora and fauna such as sea bass, moray and moonfish. The people are gentle and helpful, the whole region is well worth taking the time to explore and the good living is to be enjoyed. The Costa Calida is one of the healthiest places on earth to be. The area is sheltered against Meseta winds making the temperature pleasant throughout the whole year. Access is easy as the area is just over an hours drive from Alicante and is also close to Murcia Airport. Unspotted by the holiday mass this area is still in the early days of development. It is therefore not overcome with bars and restaurants though these can be found in Puerto de Mazzarron and around the golf courses. The scenic routes across the Algarrobo range are delightful; there are rabbits, partridges and foxes roaming and it provides a natural habitat for kestrels and species of wild eagle. The mountain areas are abundant with wild thyme, rosemary and lavender, which can be found complimenting many local dishes. Mazarron is famous for its plethora of wonderful seafood dishes; mouth watering local dishes include bonito fish and noodles, peppers, garlic, saut tomatoes and aniseed.
Spain is blessed with one of the healthiest climates in the world according to The World Health Organisation who recognise this region as one of the healthiest on the planet. The slower pace of life (the Spanish siesta) is also beneficial for those who are prone to stress. It is said that the health and well being of people who live in hot climates are generally happier and more relaxed than those who live in cold, wet climates such as Northern Europe). Spain boasts over 320 days of sunshine per year, extremely low rainfall and mild temperatures. Even in December the temperature rarely drops below 17 degrees.
Adjacent to the Mar Menor are natural salt lakes where people come daily to apply the mud from the bed of the lakes to their bodies. They then cross the road and wash it off in the Mar Menor.
The Spanish firmly believe that this process relieves aches and pains and is especially popular with those who suffer from arthritis and muscular problems. This theory is supported by many doctors and medical experts in Spain
and indeed across Europe. The world health council has stated that the region is one of the healthiest places in the world to live.
We have had a brilliant time here in your delightful home in August 2008. Everyone has found something to keep them happy - bird watching on the salinas, watching the sunset/beach from the terrace, playing golf and tennis at The La Manga Club, breakfast with a sea view. Glorious sunny week (hottest 34° C) but the house has been cool! What a blessing. We have had a holiday with two 14 year olds, a 9 year old and an 18 month old toddler - trying to find a holiday that caters for all our needs is incredibly difficult! But, hurray! We have found it here at Playa Paraiso. The house is very comfortable, great sky Tv (love the air conditioning and fans). The Mar Menor is only a few minutes away and is ideal for the young children. It is so safe with the shallow clear water, which is also beautifully warm. Loved the shady palm trees on the beach and the sun loungers and twinkling lights of La Manga across the bay at night. We booked again straight away for next year on our return and can not wait to come back. Thanks Kim and Chris.

Hi Chris, I spent a lovely week at Revelin 1 with my parents. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time and enjoyed using the villa. This is excellent value as the provisions in the villa are of a very high standard. It's very close to great beaches. A great introduction to beautiful Spain as we have not been before. We always had our holidays in Greece (but not anymore). Be warned, Spain is very warm in Febuary and March! like many of your other guests we have already booked again for later this year October 2009 thank you for all the help and advice and look forward to talking to you soon and adding another comment on our return later this year.

Had two lovely holidays here Oct 2007 and Oct 2008. The house is very welcoming and clean, everything was in good condition with fantastic views over the sea and mountains. Swimming pool was a joy and we enjoyed trying out the local restaurants. We found the area very flat and easy to get around. Hire car was delivered to the house for the last 3 days of our stay and collected at end of holiday so it was all organised well by Kim. Thank you. Look forward to returning again in 2009.

...we have just arrived back from a really relaxing two weeks in Playa Paraiso. The villa was great and had everything that we required, anything we did need, e.g. extra blankets (as it was easter) were delivered promptly. It is central in regards to a local supermarket, the lake, a few pubs and park. It was lovely and quiet which was exactly what we wanted. The pool was lovely and clean but very cold so we didn't really use it. We did hire a car, and found this really useful, e.g. to explore the area, visit other beaches and the bigger supermarket. The owners of the rental appartment, have been very helpful and communicative, leading up to our stay, and afterwards which has been extremely helpful and i shall ceratinly visist their villas again iff venturing to those parts fo teh world. Many thanks the Rowlands/Bennett family

This was our first visit to Spain and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The villa was clean and well equiped. We spent most of the week at the pool or on the beach swimming or just relaxing. The villa was in an ideal position for doing both without a car journey in the heat, this suited because we had very young children. The local shop was well stocked with fresh bread and meat. We also used the local restaurants and ejoyed eating out. It is a very Spanish resort and I think a phrase book would be helpful. It was a nice quiet relaxing holiday and we would certainly go back. We spent nearly 3 weeks in revel no.2 and with a party of 7 found it a good size and decent accomodation. With the pool around the corner or a couple of minutes walk to the warm and calm Mar Menor or even a 20 minute walk(5 min drive) to the mediterranean sea this is ideal location for all. Would stay in area again.
