| Detailed Description | Cottages at the Rookery are completely furnished in cottage chic style, decorated with care and love to be clean and fresh when you arrive. Snowbirds welcome. Located across the street from the beach, it's 0.4 miles to the beach. The development has a huge pool with an extended shallow end, and an outdoor Jacuzzi. It is located at mile marker 6, which is 17 miles down Fort Morgan Road from Gulf Shores. Master bedroom features queen size bed, second bedroom has standard double, and the third bedroom has twin beds. The living room sofa makes a queen size bed. There is a full kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and ice maker. There is a washer and dryer. There’s no phone, (bring your cell phone) but there is satellite TV. The screened porch overlooks the pool. The Rookery was designed to be a natural and quiet resort and is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. There are several golf courses near by and this unit is 17 miles from Gulf Shores, without any of the traffic and crowds. A marina, boat dock and restaurant are nearby. Alabama’s Gulf Coast offers a wonderful variety of inshore and offshore saltwater fishing. Driving west from Gulf Shores along Fort Morgan Road brings to the end of this peninsula, where Fort Morgan stands guard to the mouth of Mobile Bay along with its sister, Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, a ferry-ride away.
