Area Description: Sealbourne is located on the outskirts of the charming village of Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, well-known for its gorgeous beaches, hikes and walks, swimming, ocean and lake fishing, and wonderful golf courses to name just a few of its attractions.
It is the perfect place to either relax and unwind, or to take advantage of the numerous activities, sports and attractions which the area has to offer.
Vancouver Island is part of the province of Beautiful British Columbia, some say the most scenic place on earth. The island is over 280 miles long and offers the visitor a multitude of things to do and experience. It has a peaceful East coast, facing mainland B.C., with fabulous views over the famous Inside Passage to the snow capped mountains beyond.

We had a fantastic holiday here in 2009. The location of the house couldn't be more idyllic, on a quiet beach with stunning views across the water back towards the mainland and the mountains visible against the skyline in the distance. With eagles nesting in the trees around and seals bathing on the rocks just out to sea, you couldn't ask for a more relaxing and enjoyable place to unwind and soak up the sun. Loved the inside of the house - very comfy and with a great dining room to eat with family, especially if you manage to land a salmon that has been caught that day! Loved relaxing in the hot tub with a cold beer after a day on the beach or out kayaking in the sea. The local town, Qualicum, is small but quaint with a decent supermarket and French Creek has a great selection of freshly caught fish including that famous Canadian salmon (there really is nothing like it when it is that fresh). About 45 mins away, Nanaimo has a decent mall if you need to do any shopping and market town Coombs is definitely worth a visit even if just to visit the famous 'Goats on the roof' cafe (yes there really are goats on the roof) which does an amazing brunch. We went hiking in Strathcona national park and the walk was truly breathtaking. Anyone interested should Google 'della falls' - thought to be the highest waterfall in Canada and can be reached by a fairly easy walk from Central Lake which itself can be reached by an hour long speedboat ride. Sealbourne is a great base to explore all the island has to offer but most importantly it is the perfect escape from any stresses in life. I found it to be simply fantastic and will be planning many more visits back here. Having stayed in a number of similar places on the island and the mainland (I have lots of family in BC), I think the comfort and location Sealbourne offers anyone lucky enough to stay here is unbeatable and I was wanting for nothing during my stay... apart from more time to enjoy it of course! Many thanks!! :) Max - Mar 27, 2011 |

Sealbourne is a home away from home - an exceptionally comfortable house with stunning deck right on the beach. Kayaking among the seals, swimming, playing bocce and table tennis make it an ideal location for families, and the wide range of excursions, hiking, salmon fishing and whale watching within easy reach make Sealbourne a great base for an extended holiday. This was my second visit and I'll be back again! AliMac - Mar 18, 2011 |

I stayed at Sealbourne with my wife for a week. We had a fantastically relaxing time. The key highlights for us were: - the ability to step right on to the beach and then walk for miles - the panoramic views from the master bedroom - the eagles landing right on the deck to feed - the comfortable living and sleeping areas Sealbourne is well located for trips to Tofino and Campbell River. It is also conveniently located close to Qualicum Beach amenities. We also enjoyed several day trips hiking close by. Tom - Mar 17, 2011 |

It is a very comfortable house with magnificent views. The beach is at your finger tips and it is amazing to watch the tide go in and out. A great location for being able to do day trips but have a comfy home to return to. Will return one day. Kim Selley - Mar 17, 2011 |

Stayed here with children and extended family and had a brilliant time. The location is absolutely perfect - amazing views - eagles soaring overhead and seals playing out in the water. Everything is on your doorstep. You can even kayak from your backyard and when the tide is out you can play games on the beach. Kids will love it. Great location for walks/hikes or a trip to Tofino and Campbell River. Sealbourne is a home away from home. We will be back for sure.

My partner & I stayed here for a gorgeous week -- and loved it. Long baths & hot tubs overlooking the ocean, sunset champagne with a campfire, sunrise kayaking with seals - we were almost laughing at how ridiculously romantic and perfect the setting was, like we were in a mushy Hallmark movie. The house was well equipped, the bed comfortable, the fireplaces cozy for cuddling in front of. Lots of privacy if you wanted it, friendly neighbors & little village if you want to venture out
