We have rented many cabins in many different areas. This cabin was just right. It felt very much like home. Some cabins are too rustic, or have to many unnecessary luxuries. This cabin, met in the middle, I did not pay extra for things I did not need, and yet was very comfortable. The surrounding area was peaceful, as well as interesting. · By Len and Ri from Longwood FL - Jan 24, 2012 |

This chalet is quiet, comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a lovely long summer weekend. We had two teenaged boys with us, and they loved sharing the loft upstairs, away from us adults in the bedroom on the first floor. The chalet was outfitted with all the cookware we needed to prepare several different kinds of meals. The bathroom is roomy, clean, and came with plenty of towels for all of us. We enjoyed the quiet of sitting on the decks, sipping our morning coffees or just reading in peace and stillness. Overall, a delightful rental property, and we would request it again in a heartbeat. · By Cynde Sears from Oak Hill, VA - Jan 24, 2012 |

Very comfy, was heated and warm when we arrived at 2am. Keys were exactly where we were told we would find them. Very nice for 2 couples wanting to get away from it all. Kitchen was excellant for cooking, very comfy bedding but if your tall like my son in law watch your head in the bathroom area. Was very nice for our quick 2 nite stay. · By Sandy from PA from Levittown PA - Jan 24, 2012 |

Our stay was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin or a better location. It was great to get away and not have to worry about a thing, including cell phones since we didn't have service! · By Heather from Cumberland, VA - Jan 24, 2012 |

The Shenandoah Chalet is a very good choice as a home base for exploring the Shenandoah Valley or the National Park. Many other interesting places to explore are nearby, with Charlottesville and Monticello about an hour away. The chalet is situated a few miles from the Western park border northeast of Elkton Virginia and convenient to Skyline Drive and, further South, the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although some might see it as a disadvantage, the Chalet is rather isolated, well off the beaten path several miles off Highway 340. However, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet when not out sightseeing. The Shenandoah Chalet is perfect for a quiet getaway and would easily accomodate 3-4 people. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with a great variety of cooking utensils. The loft bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the small downstairs bedroom could accomodate another person or couple. The owners were very helpful, answering our email questions very promptly. Highly recommended! · By Boilermaker_91 from Oxford, Indiana - Jan 24, 2012 |

Myself and a couple of girlfriends spent a weekend at the chalet. What I liked about it was that they had comfortable furnishings and yet felt like it belonged in the woods. It was quiet and peaceful. When looking for a place what stood out about the chalet was that we would be able to walk to a hiking trail within Shenandoah -- and we did that while we were there. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it. · By K. A. from Globe Trekker: the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia - Jan 24, 2012 |

The Shenandoah Chalet is a place we'd like to retire to... cozy, comfortable, and clean. I forgot peaceful - really peaceful. We enjoyed our entire experiences, our pancake breakfasts, our hikes, our all-night game of scrabble. It's going back to simpler times without shopping, traffic or craziness. When can we move in? · By Jackie & family from Rockville, MD - Jan 24, 2012 |

My wife and I rented the Chalet while my was pregnant just as a getaway before my son came. The cabin is very charming and we had everything that we needed. There is an awesome view from the front of the cabin. Further, you can hear the nearby stream in the background. A very picturesque setting. I would definitely recomend this to anyone as a quiet getaway in the hills. I have only 1 issue, the fireplace looks cool, but doesnt work all that well. It cant take very much wood at all and can fill the room with smoke very easily. Other than the fireplace, we had a great time at the Chalet and would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet getaway. · By zee from Silver Spring MD - Jan 24, 2012 |

We have stayed at the Chalet twice and just love it. The price is right and the house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We have used it as a get-a-way in the winter to leave the hectic pace of DC and love that there's no cable, internet, or cell phone coverage... we bring dvd's, lots of food and drink, hike during the day and cook and relax at night. This past trip, we hit a couple of close wineries, which was just a perfect touch. Highly Recommend! · By David Miller from Arlington, VA - Jan 24, 2012 |

Well we just got back and the first thing I had to do was e-mail you and let you know what a terrific time we had. I contacted you in hopes of finding somewhere we could get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and we got just that. Your Chalet is absolutely amazing, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. From the moment we arrived to the saddened departure it was absolutely the best time we have had in a very long time. Your directions were exact and everything worked out exactly as planned. There was nothing better than sitting on the front deck with a glass of wine listening to nothing for a change, it was superb. The touches of home did nothing but add to that feeling and it was amazing. Thank you from both of us for allowing us to stay at your wonderful get away, I can absolutely assure you that we will be contacting you again soon many times. Finally again thank you very much we had an amazing weekend, if you EVER consider selling your property PLEASE let me know, seriously there is not a place in the world that can fulfill exactly what we were looking for like yours did.

We had a most pleasant time at your Shenandoah chalet the past week. The accommodations/facilities were superb. We had a peaceful and quiet vacation and the weekday cost to rent was very fair. We also visited Massanutten Ski area for some snowtubing, Hiking to Rapidan Hoover Camp in Shenandoah National Park, The Mt. Powell hiking trails near your chalet, and on the way back home, we visited Montpelier - home of James Madison. Thank you for the opportunity to rent your most wonderful vacation home! We plan to rent your chalet again in the future. We look forward til the next time. Regards, Pio G. Pio G. - Jan 12, 2010 |
