The porch is so comfortable and inviting. It seats as few as two as many as a dozen or so comfortably for cocktails. There is a gas grill on the back deck for the times you want to hang around the cottage for dinner and relax. For other times there are plenty of restaurants in the Town of Belfast (less than 10 minutes north) and Camden and Rockport (20 minutes south). My wife and I can assist you with some nice alternatives for indoor or outdoor dining, pub fare, microbrewery options, or whatever your fancy. <br /> <br /> The cottage does have some views of the ocean and is remarkably private for its location in this tight-knit village setting. It is on a corner lot with one of the few open lots across the street, and we accentuated the privacy during the renovation by moving some of the original windows from the north side to the east side to add more light and additional privacy. Golf is within walking distance and I can arrange for a mooring if you have a sailboat or motor boat. If you get up early in the morning and go kayaking you can often find porpoise and seals feeding in the bay, while the water is still like glass.<br /> <br /> Shearwater Cottage is a hundred year old cottage in the heart of Bayside village ithat has undergone a complete renovation that was finished early this summer. The cottage has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The cottage has a bedroom with two twins pushed into a king size bed, a room with three twins and a third bedroom with an old fashioned rope bed, an awesome screened porch and a covered porch on the first floor and a roof deck on the second floor with distant views to the bay. It comes with laundry, a dishwasher, a gas grill, and a gas fired woodstove for chilly mornings and a ceiling fan in each room for warm afternoons.

Bayside Village Northport Maine United States Location Type: Near the Ocean Nearest Airport: Bangor 45 Miles Car: Necessary Area Description: The village wharf has a swim float and a life guard though most folks prefer to jump off the wharf itself. There are mooring available for any size boat and a dingy dock with fresh water available. There is a kayak storage area on the beach, sailing camp for the kids, and golf within walking distance. There is hiking nearby, and even skiing and curling in the winter. With all this to do, we still often find many people relaxing with a beautiful mid-morning or mid-afternoon nap on the wonderful covered porches in the gingerbread cottages of Bayside.
