Neighboring towns include Brewster with its antique shops and Nickerson State Park, and Chatham with its quaint Main Street, famous Friday night band concerts, and boat rides to see the seals off Monomoy and whale watch trips. 15 minutes away from Nauset Beach in Orleans, 25 minutes from Cape Cod National Sea Shore Visitors Center and miles of Atlantic Ocean surf. 30 minutes from an actual Drive-In movie and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary. 10 minutes from Rte 28 with arcades, trampolines, go karts, bumper cars for the kids and shopping for the adults (or vice versa!). 20 minutes to Hyannis with major shopping and restaurants. EXCEPTIONAL PRIVACY: This private house is in a quiet, family neighborhood, away from traffic and crowds, yet close enough to all of the excitement of this busy summer resort to enjoy the chaos, and leave it behind when you come 'home'. Enjoy the beach til the sun is too much, then come back to the house and enjoy the private back yard, the perfect mix of sun and shade; pop into the pool for a dip when the mood catches you. Drive 3-4 miles in any of 3 directions for a fully equipped supermarket to BBQ your summer favorites, or choose fabulous fresh seafood restaurants just as close. Ethnic dining or good old fashioned comfort foods at restaurants plush or plain, all within 10-15 minutes. Or bring take out food back to the house to the patios, and enjoy the company of your family and friends in complete privacy and quiet.

INTERESTED in the ARTS? FILMS? THEATER? MUSIC? Your hosts are prepared to share their wide knowledge of the local arts scene with you. Multiple screens for films offer a choice of at least a dozen different movies within a 10-15 minute drive in Harwich, Dennis and Yarmouth (exit 8, 9, and 11). First rate live theatrical perfomances, live music, and an abundance of art galleries are nearby, so don't hesitate to ask. We can assist you in finding a babysitter if you haven't brought one along.

NATURE walks? Bicycling? Swimming? Pool? Your hosts can help you with these as well. We live in the same neighborhood, and we walk, bike and swim daily on trails both marked and hidden. Not only does the Cape offer world famous ocean beaches, but the local beaches on both Nantucket Sound and Cape Cod Bay offer numerous nearby places of both recreational and visual delight. Plus, the fresh water ponds in the immediate vicinity are our secret treasure. Don't hesitate to ask. The sparkling private pool is carefully maintained for your enjoyment. A brand new, solar heating system will be in place this winter, extending the swimming season to include June and September (depending on the SUN! possibly some of May and October!)
